Why advanced training?

Group training sessions accompany the use of each volume of the “music and movement” Audio Library.

They are highly recommended, as they encourage a live exchange of ideas and ideas, helping to understand the gait and establish concrete links between music and classroom practice. They enable you to take greater ownership of the pedagogical proposals and personalize their use.

The pedagogical meetings have enabled me to visualize the Audio Library’s Dalcroze activities from a pedagogue’s point of view. By discussing with Françoise and the other participants, I’m more able to concretely imagine the progression of activities I can do with my students.

Véronique Gaboury, Professor of Music Pedagogy, Laval University (Quebec)

The group really liked it … the approach had helped them improve their concentration; they mentioned that movement combined with rhythms and even different musical concepts would help them convey the concepts to the children (and even adults) they were teaching.

Karine Michon, Music teacher, Tre Punti studio (Montreal)

This is a truly wonderful collection! The beautiful music of Françoise Lombard is perfect for the suggested activity and still she invites the teacher, or the students, to invent other activities and movements. The Library can also be used to study improvisation: how to play a simple introduction, how to modulate, how to develop an idea, how to create a good contrast and so on. I recommend it to any classroom music teacher who wants to explore movement as a way of learning to listen.

Lisa Parker, former Dalcroze teacher, Director of Studies, Longy Music School (United States)
